Heavy leather case, early 20th century According to the consignor, it came from the estate of actor Emil Jannings (1884 - 1950). Leather stamped ''E.J.'' on the case, inside handwritten inscription ''Emil Jannings... (illegible)''. Jannings was the leading actor alongside Marlene Dietrich in ''The Blue Angel''. In 1929, he was the first person ever to receive an Oscar. Various stickers from train journeys etc. on the side of the case. Lined inside in light-colored linen. The outside ber, one corner seam detached, leather flaps fragile. 80 x 24 x 46 cm
