Original name pennant of the sailing school ship ''Kommodore Johnsen'' of Norddeutsche Lloyd. Light fabric, partly dyed red and inscribed in black Kommodore Johnsen, l. approx. 260 cm.- In 1921, the four-masted barque was launched for the Vinnen shipping company in Kiel and was christened ''Magdalene Vinnen''. Norddeutscher Lloyd Bremen acquired the ship in 1936, converted her into a cargo-carrying training ship in its own shipyard and put her into service under a new name in the same year. Shortly before the start of the war, she returned from her last voyage as a training ship in 1939. In 1945, the ship was handed over by the British to the Soviet Union as reparations. The USSR and later Russia continued to use her as a training ship under the name ''Sedov''.
