Kaulbach 1890 at lower left, titled a. inscribed on verso, 24,3 x 40 cm, framed 34 x 49 cm.- After studies at the art academies Königsberg and Karlsruhe he undertook study trips to Russia in the early 1890s. From 1897 he lived in Cologne, but moved his residence on medical advice in 1915 on the Baltic coast to Gehlsdorf (near Rostock).
