Chinese marine painter of the 19th c. The barque ''Barbarossa'' at sea. Around 1865, oil/canvas, unsigned, 45 x 59 cm, restored and retouched, right margin with paint chipping, craquelée, framed 60 x 74,5 cm. Built in Bremen in 1854, the barque was first called ''Robert'', was acquired by the Bremen shipping company Hachez & Müller in 1862 and sailed from then on under the name ''Barbarossa'' on the Southeast Asia route to Akyab, Rangoon, Singapore and Hong Kong, among others.
