Fedeler, Carl Justus Harmen. 1799 - Bremen - 1858. The schooner brig ''Eclipse'' at sea. 1875. oil/canvas, signed lower right dated a. locally inscribed C. Fedeler Bremerhaven 1875, verso restored in four places, retouched, 63 x 93 cm, framed 77 x 106 cm.- Built 1875 in Bremerhaven by F.W. Wencke for F. Genebra in Barcelona, the Eclipse sailed under Spanish flag. Her maiden voyage took her to Porto Rico, she can be traced to 1894. Pawlik, Von der Weser in die Welt, III, p. 184.
