Around 1897. oil/canvas, signed lower left Hoffmann-Fallersleben, verso on stretcher label of the Great Berlin Art Exhibition as well as further strongly darkened label, verso 4 patches mounted, 98 x 149 cm, framed 110.5 x 163 cm.- The painting was exhibited in 1897 in the Great Berlin Art Exhibition under number 690.- The son of the poet August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben (1798-1874) studied landscape painting at the academies of Düsseldorf and Weimar.
