Assmann, Heinrich. 1890 Osnabrück - 1915 Ostrowo/Poland. Girl with braids (Senta Schneider). 1913. pencil and charcoal drawing/paper, signed a. dated H. Assmann 1913 on lower right, sheet 34 x 29 cm, small spots, minimal light margin due to former framing.- Assmann settled in Worpswede in 1909, where he became a student of Georg Tappert. In 1910 he also attended the class of Lovis Corinth in Berlin. From 1911 he lived near Worpswede, had closer contact with the painters Heinrich Vogeler, Carl Emil Uphoff and Wilhelm Morgener. In 1913 he exhibited for the first time in Osnabrück. He was killed in action on the Eastern Front in 1915.
