Lüken, Alfred (Ulfert). 1895 Remels - 1967 Jever. Störtebeker tower in Marienhafen near Norden. Colored woodcut, signed lower right U. Lüken, framed under mount behind glass 58 x 67.5 cm, mount cut-out 39 x 48.5 cm, unopened.- Lüken studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 1913. In 1920 he went to Remels to found the artists' colony there, which existed only briefly, together with Hermann Hundt, Gerd H. Wollheim and Otto Pankok. In 1925 he went on study trips with Pankok to Sardinia and Capri. From 1926 he settled in Emden as a freelance artist.
