Kempin, Wilhelm. 1885 - Oldenburg - 1951. forest interior. Oil/wood, signed WKempin lower left, 117 x 93 cm, framed 138,5 x 115,5 cm.- After he had already taken painting lessons for 10 years with the landscape painter Gerhard Bakenhus in Kreyenbrück, he went to the art school in Weimar directed by Fritz Mackensen in 1911 and became a master student of Max Thedy there. After the war he moved back to Oldenburg and in 1925 moved into a house with a studio in Kreyenbrück. Between 1937 and 1942 he exhibited at the Great German Art Exhibition in Munich.
